Jeff Tollefson

Writer / Editor

I’m an award-winning journalist with nearly three decades of staff experience, ranging from daily newspapers of old in the rural American West to the world’s preeminent science journal, Nature, where I spent more than 18 years traveling the globe and writing about the nexus of energy, environment and sustainable development. In between I spent two years on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC, with Congressional Quarterly, one year as a Knight Science Journalism fellow at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and several months exploring efforts to protect the Amazon rainforest and its people as an Alicia Patterson Fellow. I’m now an independent writer and editor based in New York City, interested in pretty much everything under the sun. More soon. I’m also on LinkedIn.
